As of May 8th, we have reopened the repair center at 49 Wall Street. Please call 860.618.0052 to verify our hours.
Here is the oringal announcment that we sent out in April. It comes with great sorrow that I have to announce the closing of Digital Network Arena (DNA). We have been open since Oct 2006 and have proved we were able to hold out for the long haul but as with most small businesses we have succumb to the bad economy as well as some serious health issues that I have been dealing with. I have been for the most part supporting DNA out of pocket in order to keep it available to the young people of Torrington for a couple years now and it has gotten to the point where it has been effecting my personal financial situation. On top of that I have some medical issues that my doctor’s feel could be made easier to deal with if I wasn’t dedicating so many hours per week to DNA and the stress from money issues as well. I always said it didn’t matter to me if I was able to draw money from DNA as long as it could support itself but it has gotten to the point where with the economy the way it is it falls far short of supporting itself and I can’t afford to support it any longer. I made many many very good friends over the past six or so years that I will cherish forever. Although I know we will still see each other in passing in the future it will not be the same as looking forward to seeing you guys walk through the doors of DNA. We had a lot of fun over the years. Since we opened I have been to countless graduations, birthday parties and was even asked to walk someone down the aisle as her wedding, I have sat and listened to problems and helped where I could and had my shoulder cried on more times than I can count so you can imagine how hard this for me. I have decided that the gaming center has to end but will I and Ed will continue to run the computer repair, gaming system and retail side of the business in a smaller location at 49 Wall Street. That way I can work normal hours and be a lot less stressed with everything affecting my health issues so I’m not going completely away. I want to thank everyone who patronized DNA Gaming Center over the years and I especially want to thank everyone who chipped in when things were tough to help get through the hard times (you know who you are) as well as everyone who helped us move twice. I will always be indebted to you and hope to be able repay you in some way in the future. We will be holding a going out of business sale of a lot of items I can’t use at the new place. I will hold a closed door sale for the friends of DNA first to give all of you first dibs on what we have for sale. We need to raise as much money as possible in order to walk out free of debt hopefully. Please don’t sent a million messages about what we will be selling as I really don’t know at this time.
Your Friend Jim
